MBA Education MBA course in India can be categorized into the following 4 types:
A full-time MBA usually comprises four semesters including project work, industrial exposure and summer internship.
There are major and minor specialization subjects. The choice of
specialization subjects generally include Marketing, Finance, Human Resources,
Operations and Logistics, Information Technology, Systems, International Trade
and Business, Consumer Behavior, etc.
Common Admission Test (CAT): CAT is the common entrance exam to get admission to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Lucknow, Indore, and Kozhikode. Many other institutes also draw out their candidates based on the performance in CAT. All the questions are multiple choice and for every correct answer, one mark is awarded and for every wrong answer, 1/4th of a mark is deducted. The test consists of the following Sections : -
A good score in the written test is a prerequisite for a student to be called for the group discussion and a personal interview conducted to assess the students, personality and demeanor, with the final selection made on the student's overall performance in the three rounds. Management Aptitude Test (MAT) : Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is being conducted four times a year by All India Management Association (AIMA). The test consists of following five sections:
Each section consists of 40 questions. The total of 200 questions is to be attempted within 150 minutes. It is an objective type test with multiple choice answers.
